Bosch's Flagship under his new alliance with the Shivans

To use this MOD:
Place this readme where ever you want.
Place the corvette2s-01.POF file in the FreeSpace 2/data/models directory.
Place the ships.tbl and weapons.tbl files in FreeSpace 2/data/tables directory.
Place all the graphic files (files ending with extension '.pcx') in the FreeSpace 2/data/maps directory.

I created this vessel using several programs. VPVIEW enabled me to extract the skins, the model (POF), the weapons.tbl, and the ships.tbl. AXE, a freeware HEX edit program enabled me to change the POF to refer to the new skins so the old Iceni is still usable in FreeSpace 2. Paint Shop Pro 6.01 was used for the editting of the skins (the skin of the Dakha is basically copied from the skins of the Ravana and some the Sathanas).
A special thanks to Zarathud at Descent Chronicles for creating the MODing guide that helped me to create this mod. Without that guide and its recommendations, the Dakha would not be possible.
Also special thank you to Volition for creating the best space sim in the known universe, FREESPACE 2! :)

The SFg Dakha is similar to my previous GTFg Damocles. However, the Dakha, unlike the Damocles, is on a par with the Iceni when it comes to power. It has more hitpoints than the Damocles, is a little faster, and is much better armed. I did this because, according to the story I set up in the tech room brief, Command has only encountered one of these vessels. If you want it to be just a plain Shivan vessel and not something special, then you can change the tech room story accordingly, just remember to give me credit for creating this vessel in the first place. If you want to make it one a par with the Damocles when it comes to power, then you could also change the hitpoints in the ships.tbl and alter either in the ships.tbl or in FRED2 some of its beam weapons (getting rid of the two LReds should be enough to make it about equal to the Damocles). I thought that perhaps the Dakha might be useful for campaigns and missions that want to have Admiral Bosch allied with the Shivans, I think that maybe the Shivans would be willing to build him another little Iceni type vessel if he didn't want command of something different (if they can build 80 juggernauts, I think they're probably willing to spare the relatively minute resources that would be required to construct something of the Dakha's size). Naturally, a Shivan constructed version of the Iceni would be more powerful than its Terran counterpart.
Also, please note that this MOD includes a special weapons.tbl. This weapons.tbl adds a new weapon to the Shivan arsenal, the SSlash beam. This beam is much like the TerSlash and the VSlash, only somewhat more powerful than its Terran-Vasudan counterparts. The SFg Dakha, in its configuration as is in this zip, requires this weapon.tbl because it mounts several SSlash type beams. If you don't want to use the SSlash, simply alter the entries that have the SSlash in the ships.tbl and then you don't need the weapons.tbl (note: I highly recommend you use the SSlash, I created it because I could not get a good balance with just the SRed and LRed, the Dakha always ended up either too powerful or under powered, the SSlash fits nicely in between the SRed and LRed when it comes to power).
So, there you have the story of the SFg Dakha, enjoy!

You can use this mod in conjunction with any other mods if you wish. Simply cut and paste this mod's ships.tbl entry into another mod's ships.tbl or vice versa. Just remember to give yours truly credit for creating the SFg Dakha :).
In adding it to another ships.tbl, it may be neccessary to free up some room in the ships.tbl to combine them like that. That should be easily done. Delete ships that you never use in your missions (such as the Terran version of the Mara, for example) and you will have more room for other ships you intend to use.
