Description
Punch a hole through a wall of Hammer of Light ships and escort some refugees to safety.
Changes in the revision:
- Wall ships moved closer together. This makes them more dangerous and makes the wall more visually impressive.
- Several additional waves of enemy fighters added. I trust Ouroboros will find it sufficiently harrowing now!
- More wall ships now must be destroyed before Lambda wing jumps in.
- Initial order priorities improved so friendly fighters behave more intelligently.
- Various minor changes to SEXPs and weaponry.

Wow. This mission has one of the best setups I've ever seen - it's a great change from the standard "take out the defenders and get your transports through safely" objective. There is a huge wall of HoL freighters keeping our refugees trapped. We have neither the firepower nor time to wipe them all out, so you'll just have to take out the center ones and watch the transports through. Anyone who thinks that freighters are too weak should consider that PVFR ships are all warship-class in a pinch, and even the most discriminating FSM lover will take in stride and without great complaint the use of Ma'ats and Satises as combat enemies. Great originality in general, as well as a well-done briefing.

There is a wide selection of fighters and weapons on the list, including a trio of Lokis as Gamma wing. Um... okay. They perform fine in combat, so I'm not complaining about them. The one major problem in the original version (dificulty) has been fixed. In fact, there have been a few adjustments to problems I elected not to mention about the original, like the equipping of MX-50s on some fighters (there are and were plenty of other missles available). Now, it's a harrowing, difficult mission, except... well, see below.

Design: 5.0 Stars
The design and timing in Cutpoint is of very professional quality. The freighters are well laid out and the mission looks very clean indeed within FRED. The sense of the constant threat against your refugee ships is wonderful. There is one complaint: My first try, I lost a single transport of Omicron wing two seconds before they warped out, and so failed the entire Primary Objective to escort the transports. Ugh.

Gameplay: 4.5 Stars
This is fun, original, and it's great to not even be able to take out all targets. Kudos to Drake.

Other Thoughts:
Fixed up and great.

Bottom Line: A very original mission that's extremely cool.
Highs: Original, a great idea.
Lows: Well, it's a bit too easy for one slipup to cost the entire mission.
