Description
Set shortly after the destruction of the Capella System, Alpha wing must protect a convoy on its way to a jump node.

Storyline: 3.5 Stars
The storyline to this mission is perfectly adequate but nothing special. It involves an expeditionary force sent to Capella after the jump node was not sealed off following the supernova. However, you must first escort a convoy, which will deliver supplies to the expeditionary force. The briefing has a couple of minor spelling errors but the ships and icons all match up, which is good. Of particular note is the extremely thorough debriefing, which gives responses for almost every event worth mention, from saving the convoy to failing to save a single cargo container.

Balance: 2.5 Stars
Balance in this mission is a bit below average, to be honest. ItÂ’s a bit too easy to save much of the convoy, though itÂ’s quite challenging to save the GTC Acron, if you ever notice itÂ’s under attack. The NTF really arrive slightly too close to the convoy and get shredded by flak and beam cannons, but the NTF bombers are well placed and ordered, attacking the Mentu from a blind spot. The NTF cruiser loses its beam cannons too quickly to do serious damage, which is a shame, as the Mentu cruiser easily escapes with its life. Not that lumps of metal have a life...

Design: 4.0 Stars
Plenty of waypoint paths are used in this mission and all work nicely. It’s also good to see that the author capped the waypoint speed of the ships so that the convoy stuck together, which is always important with these types of mission. Directives all work fine and there’s even a reasonable background. However, the chance to use the send-message-list s-exp isn’t taken up. However, that won’t really affect your enjoyment of the mission, just my review ;-)

Gameplay: 2.5 Stars
YouÂ’ll probably feel quite helpless during the first part of this mission. The convoy can take care of itself when attacked by the feeble Lokis, especially when they arrive within flak and beam range and are shredded within seconds. The second part of the mission is rather short and sharp, but you will at least be able to intercept bombs and bombers and fight off plenty of fighters. The mission is rather short overall.

Other Thoughts:
By lengthening the mission and the attacks this could become a top convoy escort mission. Oh, I'd also like to apologise for Zileas' absence...he has fallen off the face of the Earth. Actually I believe his computer bought it... :/

Bottom Line: Average convoy escort which is mechanically sound but not too much fun.
Highs: Good briefing and debriefing, solid design.
Lows: The missionÂ’s too short and not too much fun.
