Description
This is a very basic mission, and might be to easy for experienced players. This is made for beginners though. All you have to do is fight several waves of NTF fighters and leave.

Storyline:
ThereÂ’s no storyline of substance to this mission. The idea is to go in, fight three waves of Lokis and leave. The briefing is reasonable enough, though there's no briefing music, a couple of spelling errors and an incorrect ship related to the icon of the Asteroid field. The debrief also works fine.

Balance:
YouÂ’ll have no difficulty beating this one. The four NTF fighters are no match for your four Herc IIÂ’s. Ultimately they arrive in too small numbers to do any damage.

Design:
While everything that is included in the mission works okay, thereÂ’s so little in the mission that I canÂ’t mark it highly for that. A look in the events box shows there to be one event. It also confirmed my suspicion that this is indeed the example mission from FreeSpace 1.

Gameplay:
While simple the mission isnÂ’t glaringly unplayable. The asteroid field looks good but thereÂ’s no background, and the dogfights with the NTF arenÂ’t going to last more than five minutes.

Other Thoughts:
I guess that this mission does succeed in its aim as a mission for total beginners.
