PaulCharcoalMan @ 07/27/00 Review...

Forbidden Fruit is a great mission. There is no doubt about that. I only have a few complaints, and they aren't very critical. First of all, the background is a little plain. Having even a large nebula would have made the mission much nicer. Starting out in a debris field is a nice touch though, and makes up for the plain background. Second, the mission is a little short. Third and last, the story leaves the player wanting more. This is the mission's greatest strength and weakness. If there is a good example of how to start a FreeSpace 2 campaign, Forbidden Fruit is one of them. Hopefully, the author of Forbidden Fruit will revise the mission, as it only needs a few extra things to make playing the mission a very memorable experience. I also hope that the author of Forbidden Fruit will make a sequel to this mission, because the story leaves the player wanting more. Don't let my complaints stop you from downloading the mission though. There are so many high points in Forbidden Fruit that the minor flaws are barely noticeable. I highly recommend downloading Forbidden Fruit.

Tips...

WARNING! SPOILERS! WARNING!

1) Once the Shivans attack, order your wingmen to protect the Blade. This will keep the Blade safe for the time being.

2) Go after the Shivan bombers first. The Blade isn't a GTD Orion or Hecate and can easily be destroyed with several Cyclops or Helios.

3) Once the Firestorm appears, feel free to order your wingmen to attack it. There won't be any other Shivan ships entering the area of engagement.
