PaulCharcoalMan @ 07/27/00 Review...

A very well crafted campaign, to say the least. The person who made the Aeos Affair definitely knew what they were doing. The result? A campaign that rivals even that of Volition's FreeSpace 2 campaign. The mission design is superb, and there is a sense of urgency in each mission that is missing in a majority of other available missions. There is also an insane amount of action in most missions in the campaign, which I like. My only single complaint is that the campaign is hard. Very hard. This is the way it should be though, and I appreciate playing missions where you really feel like a very small part of a large force. Again, this campaign is hard, and is intended to be a challenge to those wanting something more difficult than Volition's FreeSpace 2 campaign. I highly recomment downloading this campaign. It is well worth the time and will provide you with hours of fun.
ferrit @ 08/12/00 People who expect to finish this in a weekend will be in for a big surprise.
B_B_W @ 08/20/00 knock out the engines of capital ships and return to destroy them later...
YourSorrow @ 09/20/00 Command: "Alpha 1, eliminate those bombers!!!"
Me: "Alright...here we go...hey wtf...what did that thing come from...awwwwww...damn the 100th time already.."
Hey this campaign is one of the best...great action, if it weren't this hard.....but hey I love the difficulty cuz you get to play it over and over and over again...
Once the campaign is THIS good, you will want more and more...so I think it is pretty short...
bernie2000 @ 10/21/00 A brilliant campaign, I had loads of fun playing it. The missions were excellent, lots of fun capital ship scrappin. The first mission in the campaign is so well balanced! its a classic indeed. Playing this mission has tought me the comms menu inside out! :-)
jpgarner @ 12/15/00 This is only for people who like a challenge. Some missions are fiendishly difficult, but that's half the fun. To have any chance of completing this campaign you need to a) not be the type that charges in head-first all guns blazing b) have messaging down to a fine art, and also appreciate when it is and when it is not a good idea to have every bomber protected by a fighter c) be a really cunning bugger. My personal favourite of hanging off at 2000m and whumping beam and flak turrets with trebuchets worked well... when there was time, i definately had to come up with alternative strategies in other missions. I think this is the first time i have ever actually had to pull a flanking maneuver to take down a convoy (that is a giggle in itself with 3 wings in tow) rather than just going at it head on. Definately more thinking than average required here. all in all i loved it. oh and the plot hung together well too.
fakemccoy @ 03/24/01 It's like a black diamond ski trail. You better know how to fly, or you're in for a lot of trouble.
diamondgeezer @ 03/30/01 Great stuff! Not for newbies, and I really would have liked the Ares or Erynes for the second mission, but that aside, top notch entertainment.
joker @ 06/15/01 This review regards version 2.0. For me, top ranking exists only for those containing full audios. Otherwise, this is a lot of fun on Hard, has a together story line and provides for full involvement!
Admiral Bishop @ 08/29/01 Good mission though. Only try to expent it... would make it even longer!
For the rest it's really though, the ordinary pilot couldn't complete this. But luckely (38 retrysss in total, yes have counted it) I could complete it after all. Try to write an Episode 2 too!
Dismissed pilot!
mcmillro @ 09/23/01 This campain was non-stop destruction at it's finest! Hardest campain I've ever played, but that's the way I like it. I've always complained that the fs2 main campain was too damn easy no matter what difficulty level you put it on. Good work pilot, now make another campain soon!!
Dude Love @ 11/01/01 I've played this campaign many times and each time, it seems to get harder, especially the 1st level cause you've got no support ship and have got to use your weaponry correctly in that level. Very well done!
ffej @ 12/05/01 Great Campaign It took me a couple of runs at it but on the last run it all fell into place and I managed for the first time to get past mission 2
and to finally complete the campaign.
I really enjoyed it!...nice one...when's the next?
Best wishes Jeff.
dtvuong @ 12/14/01 Excellent difficult missions. Plan on repeating until you do everything just right. Some missions were a little gimicky in that you have to know what will happen before it happens.
pyro-manic @ 04/18/02 BLOODY GOOD FUN! This campaign is very well made. The storyline is good, the mission design is top quality, and it's a chalenge to finish. Some of the missions are tricky, and some are very hard indeed. This campaign is definitely NOT for new players (or players that are just crap!). You need to use messaging, and be very aware of what is going on around you. If you think you're up o it, then definitely get this.
Florian @ 02/06/04 A very pleasant campaign, a flawless job.
