Description
Attack and destroy the HOL PVD Microsoft

Storyline: 0.5 Stars
Story? Bah! No story here. (Couldn't you tell from the name of the HoL ship?) Just a bunch of poor grammatical and spelling errors galore. The Debreifing consists of 3 sentences. The breifing is almost as bad with at least one misspelled word per page.
This mission also has the Shivans assisting the Vasudans for no reason what so ever. So you'll be facing both Shivan and Vasudan craft.

Balance: 1.0 Stars
Your default ship is the Ulysses, which is fine with me, although I would have preferred the Hercules. Luckily, you don't need the extra fire power of larger ships as the mission is pretty much a walk in the park. Every Terran ship has at least one bay full of Hornets.
The reinforcement Capital ships to help take out the Microsoft are GTSC Faustus class Science Vessels. These things are about as helpful in a strike as a Terran Navbouy. But, once again, it doesn't matter.

Design: 1.0 Stars
This mission gets one star for actually having events. Other than that, the design is mediocre at best. There are no directives or messages to tell you that a whole plethora of Shivans have arrived.
The secondary objective is scan the Vasudan cargo containers. (Which are protected by Shivan Sentry Guns) There are about 15-20 containers that you THINK you have to scan, but, thanks to the bad design, you only have to scan the first one.

Gameplay: 0.5 Stars
I wouldn't play this one over. Ever. If you want a strike mission on a Typhon class Destroyer, just play the Main Campaign.

Other Thoughts:
Umm, Happy New Year and this is the first mission I've reviewed on my new Celeron. (OC'd at 374 mhz. Case gets too hot for 450.)
Oh yea, this is also the first mission review of the year.

Bottom Line: Another example on how NOT to do missions in FRED.
Highs: It actually has events that work, sometimes. Other than that, playing it on a 3dfx card was nice.
Lows: You can find a better story in a Pauly Shore movie. Cakewalk. Less fun than setting up one of those Barbie Digital Cameras.
