Description
It is a Babylon 5 recreation, it is a major dogfight with no shields. There really isn't a win situation, you will get overwhelmed before you actually complete it. It is just a fun dogfight with wavs from the Line from the Babylon 5 show a scene from In the Beginning.

Storyline: 2.0 Stars
Call me a softy, but I get all teary-eyed whenever I hear the call for "one last battle to hold the line against the night." That speech to defend the Earth is definitely one of the most memorable in Babylon 5. However, there is no Captain Sheridan to save the Earth from the Menbari in this battle. And there is no mission briefing to tell you how the Line is holding up or even who is trying to hold the Line.

Balance: 2.0 Stars
With this many enemies and no shields, there is no balance. Just a very quick battle. "You will get overwhelmed" is an understatement. More accurate would be: "You will die quickly because this is impossible." The minimal missile selection only adds to the insane difficulty.

Design: 2.0 Stars
Cleverly done introduction as the first few enemy ships warp in. However, the enemy capital ships will all warp in at the same time. The effect from a line of SD Demons arriving at the same time is quite spectacular, but everything arrives on a two dimensional plane and they appear to be advancing shoulder-to-shoulder. A few of the Menbari and Human wings have no preset AI commands. After the introduction, there are no events or sounds at all. If you didn't die so quickly, you'd notice that there isn't much mission here.

Gameplay: 2.0 Stars
Enjoyable only because of the attraction in recreating a memorable Babylon 5 scene. However, the insane difficulty level will frustrate even the most patient players after a few attempts.

Other Thoughts:
This mission could be more enjoyable if events were used to pace out the Battle of the Line, rather than bringing the battle to you all at once. I don't believe the Menbari ever warped their ships in shoulder-to-shoulder.

Bottom Line: You'll die, but at least you get to enjoy the mission briefing and miss the fact that there isn't much mission after the beginning.
Highs: The campaign briefing call to form the Line. Cleverly done beginning.
Lows: The Battle of Endor in another Sci-Fi franchise. Did I say that you'll die quickly?
