Description
In this mission, you must destroy a Shivan blockade at the Ribos Jump node.
Storyline:
The briefing is badly done and explains NOTHING of why we are assaulting the Ribos node. I'm sure we want to, but why Ribos? There are supposedly some kamikaze Ursas, but they never show up. A lack of in-mission events and a debriefing only complicate the matter.
Balance:
Slightly better than the also-horrible Humans, by the same author. The enemy will likely last nearly 5 minutes, due to the difficulty of hammering a Lilith to death. Any mix of weaponry is available to crush the not-so-numerous Shivan forces, and the player's wingmen could easily, given a little while, give the Shivan a nice whupping themselves.
Design:
SLIGHTLY better than that of Humans. This, as well, has obviously never been tested - at all - and there is a lack of opposition, but at least the enemy could be mistaken for a fighting force by some. There are no objectives, primary or otherwise, and the debriefing can only end in a single sentance of victory. Very sad. Massive amounts of reinforcements are available; they're totally unneeded.
Gameplay:
Some people might be able to have a good time, but anyone who wants to be able to accomplish objectives and fight against GOOD warriors will be horribly dissappointed. The lack of opposition means that there's no fun to be had, and things are totally boring when the player's wingmen outclass the enemy by a factor of about six thousand.
Other Thoughts:
What is it that this author has against actually testing his missions???
