Description
In this mission you have to capture two Shivan transports.

Storyline: 1.0 Stars
Thre are a couple of shivan transports carrying 64 humans for science experiments. How, may I ask, do we know that? Why is there only a single Basilisk wing for guarding these transports? Why are there only 3 sentances in the whole briefing? Why am I asking so many questions?

Balance: 0.5 Stars
There is absolutely no balance in Humans. There is only a single wing of 4 basilisks and the transports themselves to face, against any 4 fighters of the player's choosing, with any armament. The two transports (which do nothing, by the way) are marked as Beta wing, so on the Ship Selection screen, there's a strange feeling with two "X" marks for Beta wing, and nothing else.

Design: 0.0 Stars
You may wonder why this category has recieved not a single star. Well, .5 stars is reserved for missions with design so bad that the objectives are broken, ships spin in circles, etc. However, there is ample proof that Humans was made in about half an hour (max) in FRED, then uploaded to Xanadu's. There are no objectives. None. Zippo. There is a pair of Elysium transports as reinforcements to call in to drag the Shivan ships to one of our own facilities, but the transports do nothing. Even if both Shivan transports are, as the briefing dictates, disarmed and disabled, nothing happens. No inflight messages, no changes... There are only four Basilisks as opposition, all of whom are wiped out in a matter of seconds. When I fianlly got bored of waiting for a reaction and slagged both beached-whale transports, nothing happened. In fact, after jumping out, I was simply told that I had done a good job, saving the Terrans from Science Experiments and torture. Maybe so, but death is a rather interesting definition of "safety".

Gameplay: 1.0 Stars
By now, you should have an ample idea of what awaits players of Humans. A (<i>very</i>) short dogfight, then waiting forever, then finally nuking the transports and warping out, finding that you have been "victorious". The least fun I've had in a long time.

Other Thoughts:
Actually, I was able to win this (that is, I killed the Basilisks and made the transports impotent) with just an Avenger and a Distruptor, and no missles at all, and no wingmen.

Bottom Line: Utter crap. No objectives, no resistance, no inflight messages...
Highs: An excellent example of why beta-testing seems to be an alien idea to many mission designers.
Lows: Everything. There are NO objectives, NO events, NO messages, NO opposition, NO chance of losing...
