Description
The shivans have abandoned a science station for unknown reasons. Go in and secure the area.

Storyline: 1.5 Stars
The story must be lost. Why did the Shivans control a Terran science station? Why would the Vasudans know "more about this station" then the GTA? At least some speculation, or some resolution in the debriefing, would create a story. <p> The briefing chooses a 2D top-down view, which makes this briefing boring as well. Alpha is directed to destroy the sentry guns, but no sentry icons appear in the briefing. Moreover, the enemy is represented by a single ship icon named "Aries?"

Balance: 2.0 Stars
A turkey shoot. Alpha can only be armed with a Prometheus and a Flail, but faces the weak Vasudan PVF Anubis fighters. Hammering the flimsy Anubis of a Vasudan "ACE" with Hornet missiles seems a little unfair. Anyone else remember the "shatter rule" from CarWars? Also, the "ACE" has only Captain AI, which is no better than its comrades. I thought Vasudans were better shots than this, and not always armed with the weak missile variants.

Design: 3.0 Stars
The objectives work, as well as the events and the HUD directives. However, the Aralsk continues on its waypoints path forever, making it difficult to know when the mission ends. It is also strange that there are no messages during the mission.

Gameplay: 3.0 Stars
Other than being remarkably easy, even on medium difficulty, this mission gives some action. Although the PVF Anubis will die with only a few shots, they are maneuverable and often difficult to hit. However, there are only a few targets in this mission. The fighting is over quickly, unless you like to play with your food.

Other Thoughts:
Simple, but that alone isn't bad. It also appears to be bug-free, which is rare for a mission released at its time.

Bottom Line: Enjoyable if you're not looking for a challenge or originality.
Highs: Bug-free.
Lows: A turkey shoot. The story got lost somewhere.
