Description
Alpha 1 must prove he is not guilty of treason or die trying.

Storyline: 2.5 Stars
Not much. There is very little background information, but its better than nothing. Once the mission starts it really doesn't matter, because whatever storyline there was was dissolved after the first few seconds of the mission. You are accused of being a traitor, but why? It gives no mention as to why you are accused. And if Ulysses fighters were just invented, why do we have Ursa bombers? The storyline inconsistencies hurt the mission.

Balance: 2.5 Stars
Generally, the balance was acceptable. The only hard part I found was destroying the Demon-class destroyer in the end. Although you are given 4 Ursa bombers as Gamma wing, they never delivered their payload even when I told them to. There were just too many fighters and it really was an easy turkey-shoot, with a big destroyer (doing nothing I might add) at the end. Luckily, you don't need to destroy it to win the scenario.

Design: 2.5 Stars
Again, it was acceptable. There were no visual technical errors in the game, which is always good. The level steered clear of Battle of Endor syndrome, but it was really just wave after wave of fighters coming in. On the high side, timing was good. A lot of testing was done. In the briefing screen, there were some visible errors. Such things as broken ellipses marks and other things really caught my attention. However, these did not effect this review much, but they are errors nonetheless.

Gameplay: 2.5 Stars
This wasn't Volition quality, but it was entertaining. Certainly this mission will not be included in Silent Threat, but has great potential. A few minor fixes (such as an improved storyline) would help, though. I think that one of the biggest turn-offs was that I couldn't rearm my ship. Although what they gave you is very acceptable (exactly what I would have chosen - Ulysses with a Prometheus and Flail, with Hornets), I would have liked to play around in a Hercules or maybe a Medusa/Ursa for taking out that Demon-class ship in the end.

Other Thoughts:
The briefing screen has the grid messed up. This always gets to me, but I suppose could be fixed rather easily. Also, additional addon sounds would have been nice. I hate having to read the briefing screens, and especially read messages from my wingmen in flight. The two that are bundled are good, but more would have helped.

Bottom Line: This mission is worth playing, but only once. The author has good potential, but this mission looked a bit rushed. A deeper storyline and some minor bug fixes would make this a 4 star mission.
Highs: Good timing, acceptable balance. Entertaining, but not replayable.
Lows: A turkey shoot. Lack of storyline and sounds hurts this mission, and grammatical errors are everywhere.
