Description
A mission to destroy traitors to the GTA ends up unraveling an alliance of horrible scope... I've left the door open for a campaign, and if I get good feedback, I'll keep working.

Storyline: 2.5 Stars
A bunch of ships have turned traitor. Why? There's no explanation. The Galatea has been assigned to attack the turncoat cruiser Ravage. A cruiser, the GTC Aardvark, was sent in previously to kill the Ravage, but by now is surely dead. Take a strikeforce and knock out the Ravage, being careful of the Ravage having HOL assistance. The Briefing is sufficient, but nothing fancy.

There are enough weapons to outfit your three wings, but they all start with the defaault armament - for a Valkyrie, that's an Avenger, an ML-16, and an MX-50. You'll need to spend time making sure that all of the ships' guns have been changed to something more recent. With 4 Valkyries, 4 Hercules, and 3 Medusas in tow, there's no way you can avoid succeding in killing the Ravage. Its fighter escort is barely enough to be a problem, and is easily dispatched. However, when the Ravage is close to death, it calls in an unstoppable force of Vasudans. Of course, those Vasudans need only bee destroyed if you're aiming to complete the secondary objective (destroy any hostiles that jump in)

Design: 2.0 Stars
I don't know why this was designed as it was. The Ravage can easily be knocked out, but the Vasudans that arrive next can simple be avoided. The Ravage calls for help only when its hull is so far damaged that it is doomed, and the Vasudans arrive, even though the Ravage is often dead upon arrival. Also, sometimes transmissions come from the Ravage.... after it is dead.

Gameplay: 1.5 Stars
What I've said so far should summarize the gameplay: an easy kill on all the fighters and the Ravage, and then a hasty retreat in the face of a massive Vasudan force. That Vasudan force annihilates your wingmates, and a single fighter can't kill an Aten, two Satises, a bunch of fighters (including some Apollos!), and later, a Typhon. And before I forget to mention it, three Apollos start out so close to the player that they can unleash their weapons unopposed, dropping the player's ships to 54 or so percent before he or she can do anything.

Other Thoughts:
This could be reworked into a good mission, if more opposition was provided at the outset, the player started at least a couple of klicks from the enemy, the Ravage called for help when it still had a chance of living, when the Vasudans come they aren't as strong, and finally, some more fighters are provided in the end of the mission for the elimination of the Hammer of Light.

Bottom Line: Hopeless. A frustrating beginning, a simple middle, and an impossible ending make for an unenjoyable mission.
Highs: Excellent potential...
Lows: But as it is, not fun at all. Unbalanced waves of ships at the end, a badly timed call for help from the Ravage, and a few other things ruin Coalition.
