Description
Escort the officers, on board a modified corvette, of a new fleet to their operations base. Follow alongside the ship as it travels to Vega, and hold off all hostile forces. Sounds easy? Not quite. The GTVA has developed a new devastating weapon that can decimate a capital ship in just a couple of shots. But will the weapon work correctly with so much power involved...?

Storyline: 3.0 Stars
The mission has a pretty good command briefing, using main-campaign animations well, and introducing the player to "Red Fleet," an elite group of GTVA personnel, backed up with the latest high tech weaponry, which the player has been selected to fly with. All ship icons match up in the mission briefing, and there are no errors that I saw.

Balance: 1.5 Stars
This is basically a turkey shoot. The Shivans attack in somewhat large numbers, but The Rockwall can handle them all by herself. Boasting four ULTRA anti-fighter beams and six heavy flak turrets, the Rockwall can destroy any incoming bombs, as well as decimate any Shivan fighter or bomber that approaches it.

Design: 2.5 Stars
The author of this mission must have a thing for heavy weaponry. The default loadout of Alpha, Beta, and the reinforcement wing Delta is dual UD-8 Kaysers, with Trebuchets loading up the missile racks of all the Herc IIÂ’s. What the Rockwalls super weapons don't handle, the combined sixteen or twenty-eight UD-8 Kaysers (depending if you call in Delta) will make short work of. All events seem to work fine; All the design problems lend themselves to gameplay.

Gameplay: 1.5 Stars
Although Super-weapons can make an interesting storyline, they have a tendency to destroy gameplay. Near the end of the mission, the Rockwall's mega beams fail; I was expecting to finally engage a challenging enemy corvette. Unfortunately, another super-corvette jumped in and quickly vaporized the enemy. The player simply doesnÂ’t play an important roll in the mission. In fact, one run through the mission, I simply flew my fighter 10,000 clicks away, to watch the GTVA easily repel all Shivan attacks. It would be very difficult to fail this mission.

Other Thoughts:
Toning down the Rockwall's anti-fighter capability would make this into an interesting escort mission, as the player would need to intercept a heavy attack or lose the corvette.

Bottom Line: A very easy escort mission in which the player's actions don't really matter.
Highs: Pretty good command briefing and storyline setup. No serious non-gameplay design flaws.
Lows: Basically a small-scale Battle of Endor. Player actions donÂ’t affect the mission at all.
